Hey! I’m Sam Leeke, an Associate 3D Artist with a solid three years of experience in animation and gaming, in that time I’ve developed a deep passion for modeling environment art and prop content art. I also take pride in the skills I’ve developed in project management, processes documentation, and training my colleagues in new techniques to enhance all of our workflows.
I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse teams across the globe, working on projects in pre-rendered and real-time pipelines. My key skills includes Blender, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine, but I’m also well-versed in Maya, Mari, and Unity to in order to work with the widest collection of artists.
My last position was an Associate 3D Artist role at Gearbox on the Captured Dimensions team in Frisco, TX. During my time with Captured Dimensions, both before and after Gearbox, I’ve had the chance to work on some remarkable films which you can explore on my Industry Work page.
While not immersed in modeling or sculpting I like to spend my time planning projects with other artists and developers in my community. I love getting to work on game jams or collaborative projects that push me to develop my own skill set further and learn new abilities as needed on a short timeline.
Beyond the world of 3D art, I have a vibrant tapestry of hobbies. I find tranquility in crocheting, making the most homemade looking blankets. When I’m not crocheting, sculpting, or modeling I try to draw. Doodling holds a special place in my heart, serving as the foundation for my 3D work and a way to express my creativity on my iPad.
In the kitchen, my culinary adventures come alive as I cook and bake for my husband. We relish the joy of inviting friends over, turning new recipes into shared memories.
